TA DA!!! Obviously everyone who has read my lil shopping trip to Brighton post (LINK) has been eagerly anticipating what I got... and this is it. First of all I was so relieved that it was in stock...The guy who served me was really nice and gave me a sample of J'adore, which I already own so good times. After all the hype on beautyBLOGland and YouTube World everyone knows what this looks like but If you've been underground for six months this is Dior Amber diamond shimmer powder... Enjoy xx

I finally jumped aboard the bandwagon and got Dior's Amber diamond shimmer powder - or - poudre shimmer.. but don't worry Tom I got this for free :-) Here in the UK Boots have an advantage card scheme whereby you add up points every time you buy something and those points can be used to purchase items... I'm sure everybody knows the drill. So yeah, after my excessive spending last month I found that there was no way that I could afford to spend £32 on something that highlights my face... Breaking into my precious points was the only way I could stop waking up in the middle of the night, in cold sweats, murmuring: "amber diamond" and continue living my life. xx

All Hail Debenhams!!!! Illamasqua and MAC

Hallelujah - when I thought all hope was gone Debenhams came to my rescue. I have blogged before (LINK) about how Illamasqua was sold out of the powder blush Katie and that all hope was lost - but on a last ditch attempt to find it online Debenhams came to my rescue (LINK - but alas Katie is sold out here now too- Phew I was lucky!!). I also bought a studio finish concealer in NC20 to bulk up my bag to £30 and free shipping eligibility... check out my haul xx

The colour is gorgeous and everything I wanted it to be - It's the lightest bubblegum pink blush I have ever seen.
The payoff is good and is very buildable. I wasn't like "this is the most pigmented thing ever" - but its better than most.
The powder is very finely milled and when you swipe a brush in you will get lots of excess loose powder.
The packaging is sturdy but looks very "plasticy" (if you know what I mean) and is rather bulky. I appreciate brands like MAC/NARS that streamline their packaging

overall - very happy with my blush and concealer. Studio finish concealer is the best FYI  xx

summer face basics- products to help endure the heat xx

Here in the UK we're finally hitting the "hot" months and with it comes a change in routine in terms of makeup and skincare... when it's hot my face is oilier leading to more breakouts and an overall much shinier complexion. So lets get on with my go to base summer products, I hope you find this useful ... Enjoy xx

For very hot weather the best moisturiser (I find) is a gel formulation and my number one favourite beauty product Clinique Dramatically different gel moisturizer comes into it's own. Although this product melts into the skin all year round this is especially noticeable and necessary in the summer. a great one for morning and perfect for hot and sticky nights.

SPF junky
At the moment I'm a real SPF junky and am really buying into the idea that it is the best anti aging product. As such I try to always put it on. Of which I decided to invest in a facial sunscreen and have decided to give Clinique's Super City Block (SPF of 40!!!!) a go. This is a newly acquired purchase but is oil free and can be used around the eye area. Plus they say this can be used as a primer to use under makeup; so, so far so good.

I'm back to using my trustee MAC studio finish concealer (in NC20) on my troublesome areas. this has an SPF of 35 which is pretty awesome and has the best coverage that I have ever used. I love this..

And Powder
Whilst others turn to cream products in the summer I go back to powder. my powder of choice is my Clinique (loose) blended face powder in 08 transparency neutral. This gives a lovely satin finish to the skin and relinquishes all signs of shine. Also I'm loving the bronzed "goddess" look at the mo and my newly purchased Dior matt bronzer in 002 honey tan is my go to. I love it and with an SPF of 20 it's doubly special.

On another note I'm fighting every urge I have not to run out and get the Dior amber diamond shimmer powder. I tried it on at the Dior counter and I'm hooked. BUT I have spent TOO much money lately on frivolity and am starting to get buyers remorse - Booh!! :-(
